Credible reports gathered say Liberian international striker, William Jebor, who helped Wydad Athletic Cassablanca win the Moroccan topflight championship this season, will lead the national team of Liberia, Lone Star as the new Captain replacing Teah Dennis of Jordanian club Al-Ahli.
According to an insider of the technical staff of the national team, though the technical staff recognized Teah Dennis’ impact on the team as one of its leading and outstanding defenders, but he will relinquish the captain's armband to the highest goal scorer of the current generation of the national team and one of the team’s most unpretentious players, William Jebor.
The reports say Coach James Salinsa Debbah and some members of the technical staff got irritated when former captain Teah Dennis posted a video on his official facebook page along with some of his foreign teammates insulting Liberians when he (Teah) got reports that Liberians were carrying news around that he was dead.
Jebor, on record for scoring two separate hat tricks for the senior national team of Liberia, Lone Star in competitive matches, will begin his work as Captain of the red, white and blue outfit on June 11, 2017 against Zimbabwe in Harare in the first match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Jebor is on a season loan deal from Portuguese topflight club Rio Ave after he played a season on loan to Spanish Segunda side SD Ponferradina last season.
