The 20-year-old striker Peter Wilson extends GIF Sundsvall and has signed a three-year contract with the club. Wilson during the season had its breakthrough and played ten matches from the start and made six goals, including a hat-trick against Jönköping Södra IF.
- Peter did a great season and it was awesome to see how he got on during this year. When we started playing him, he was not Premier Division, but he became the season progresses. Peter is proficient in depth, but he also has a physique that makes him good in duels. It will be interesting to see what we can develop together, said first-team coach Joel Cedergren.
- It feels good having an extension with GIF Sundsvall. It has been going on for a while now and it feels good that everything is ready. The season that was felt good and it was just the beginning. I am hopeful and looking forward to 2017, said Peter Wilson.
Wilson has taken the GIF Sundsvall all ungdomsled and stepped up in the first-team squad in 2015 and had previously apprenticeship contract.
- Peter is a very exciting player who has made great strides this year. It is both fun and gratifying to see players developed that passed through their ranks. We GIF Sundsvall are hugely excited to release the young talent and it shows that we maintain a high level of our talent and youth, says GIF Sundsvall's sporting director Urban Hagblom.
- I've played in GIF Sundsvall since I was eight years old and it's fun to be with and build on what we started. It feels as if there will be a new team for next year and it feels great to be a part of it. I hope that as many people as possible to come and check on our games next year and see me and the team to perform, said Peter Wilson.
