Foreign Based Liberian Players To Storm ATS

Monrovia-An array of foreign based Liberian footballers plying their trades in Europe, Asia and other parts of the world are expected to storm the Antoinette Tubman Stadium to showcase their talents in the annual Diaspora tournament this Monday, December 28, 2015.
The tournament, which started on Saturday, December 26, 2015, will feature both local and foreign based players.
The Diaspora tournament is organized by Bill Neewray, a former Liberian footballer based in Europe whose aim is to see Liberian football develop.
Today at the famous ATS at 4:00 PM, Liberia’s Lone Star Captain, Teah Dennis, who is in Liberia for vacation, will lead the Diaspora team which is comprised of some of the country’s best talents oversea against former Liberian champions, LISCR FC.
Other players expected to feature for the Diaspora team include Teah’s teammate, Marcus Macaulay, Amadaiya Rennie from Norway, Kpah Sherman from South Africa, Zah Krangar and Patrick ‘Ronaldinho’ Wleh both from Malaysia and Sam Johnson, Dioh Williams and Kennedy all from Sweden and many other talented Liberians.
Liberian international and former Russian topflight club CSKA Moscow winger, Sekou Jabateh Oliseh, who is at the verge of securing a contract with a top rated European club, will also feature for the Diaspora team.
There are reports that Jabateh has been undergoing intensive training ahead of his proposed contract in January, 2016.
The reports also say former World footballer of the year, now Senator at the Liberian Senate, George Oppong Manneh Weah will also feature for Senior Pro, a team which includes some of Liberia’s former internationals including James Salinsa Debbah, Kelvin Sebwe, Thomas Kojo, Christopher Wreh, Oliver Makor, Joe ‘Armstrong Nagbe and others.
According to today’s fixture, Senior Pro, which comprises of former Lone Star players including Senator Weah, will battle FC Fassell in the first match at 2:00 PM at the famous ATS.
Liberia Football Association president, Musa Bility, who just returned from Zurich, Switzerland where he had gone for the hearing of his case against FIFA, will be in attendance alongside other prominent Liberian citizens including former LFA president, Edwin Melvin Snowe, Cassell A. Kuoh, LFA Vice President for Operations and Chief Executive Officer of FC Fassell among others.
The day’s last encounter will be the biggest match of the day as former LFA premiership champions, LISCR FC; under the tutelage of newly signed coach Robert Lartey battle Diaspora team with all members being foreign based players.
The organizers of the week-long tournament say VIP is just 5US dollars, while Around VIP and Around the Field are LD200.00 and LD100.00 respectively.
