Liberia’s Champions Barrack Young Controllers(BYC-I) Sunday put behind them their recent poor form in their domestic league, played excellent football to beat FC Johansen of Sierra Leone 2-1 in an International Friendly match at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
The visitors FC Johansen started the match very optimistically taking an early 1-0 lead through George Matta header in the tenth minute beating BYC’s Morris Tarr.
After the opening goal BYC reconsolidated and mounted pressure on their Sierra Leonean counterparts, dominating the showpiece as Johansen play much of the first half on their side of the pitch.
BYC first real attempt on target came in the 22nd minute after David Tweh set-up Sylvanus Morris’s who shot was blocked by Johansen’s defender Abu Suma.
in the 30 minute FC Johansen Yeami Dunia had a free header saved by Morris Tarr.
Three minutes later LFA top goal score Mark Paye missed a clear opportunity from close range after a “one/two” with Van-Dave but his effort was saved by Johansen’s keeper Mohamed Kamara.
Paye had another glorious opportunity in few minutes later but his placement went inches off the goal post sending BYC fans in agony.
Junior Barshall long range shot was saved by Johansen goal keeper Kamara who put out a beautiful display by making several decent saves.
In the 40th minute BYC pressure the defense of Johansen with their interchanging play which cause the visitors to make elementary mistakes by giving out balls out to BYC.
With three minutes to the end of the first half BYC got the equalizer from Mark Paye after a missed calculation between Abu Suma and Mohamed Kamara as Gideon Williams intercepted their pass to sets-up Paye he dribbles the keeper, and walk the ball into Johansen goal to level the score 1-1 as the Stadium erupts in celebration.
Back from the break BYC was awarded a penalty after central FIFA badge referee Jerry Yekeh pointed to the spot after Paye placed the ball on the hand of Abu Kanu. BYC right back Karleo Anderson converted (BYC-2/FC Johnasen-1.
Two goals down Johansen took control of the game pushing BYC to play deep in their half, BYC’s defense puts up a stiff, “bend but don’t break” resistance.

Copper Sannah brought in Randy Dukuly for David Tweh as Tweh sustain also-FC Johansen play a more physical game. Tweh had a fantastic game-keeping Johansen on their back heels with his excellent foot work.
BYC had to replace goalie Morris Tarr with Mulbah Urey while Abraham Koffa Dougbeh, was introduced for Sylvanus Morris-who was very tired a substitution the BYC Coach Said was intended to strengthen his back line.

After final whistle the entire BYC football team including Chairman/CEO Robert Sirleaf walk across the entire length of the pitch, as they exchange hand shake with the FC Johansen players, and staff .
BYC will face Stade Malien on February 12, 2017 at the ATS while Johansen will take on Rus Rabat of Morocco on the Weekend of February 10-12 2017 in Free Town Sierra Leaon.
It is confirmed that FC Johansen will face Liberia other CAF representative Monrovia Club Breweries in another friendly on Tuesday February 31, 2017 at 4pm the Blue Field (Home of BYC Football).
