The champions of the Liberia Football Association Barrack Young Controllers has won its first international friendly match the champions of the Sierra Leone Football Association FC Johansen at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

The international friendly between the two champions is used as a preparation for their CAF confederation Cup where BYC will face the mail side Stade Malien on February 12 this year at ATS in Monrovia, while the Sierra Leonean side will lock horns with Moroccan champions Rus Rabat on February 11 at the Sierra Leone National Stadium.

A one on one save was done by BYC keeper Mulbah Urey who came in for Morris Tarr in the 15minutes s of the second half. According to the hand coach of FC Johansen John Kiester, his team played a very good game and he was happy with his team’s result. He said playing BYC was not about winning but trying the team and knowing their weakness to have them prepared for their team.

Also speaking the coach of BYC Copper Sannah said playing FC Johansen was a very good reception by the club because it shows what they need to work on as a team. He said getting a strong team was when one can get out there and be tested.

During the friendly match between BYC and FC Johansen, the visiting team’s number 14 player George Matta got the first goal in the 13 minutes of the game, putting his team in the lead. The goal was a result of a corner kick coming from Sorie Barrie.

The second corner kick came in the 18 minutes of the game for FC Johansen, but it was sent away by BYC’s Kemoh Kamara. In the 27 minutes of the first half, FC Johansen number 14 player George Matta gave a good pass, but it was taken away by Prince Jetoh.
