By Webmaster

Willis Forko signed with  FK Bodø/Glimt , a Club that was  recently promoted to the Tippeliaen (Norway premier league) . This makes the 3rd team the young left back has played for since turning pro.

His 1st professional spell after college saw him plying his trade the last two seasons with Real Salt Lake of MLS.. He played 2 seasons along side Veteran US defender Eddie Pope, and gained valuable experience.

During pre season camp this year he was surprisingly released from the Real Salt lake , MLS club.

The young left back went to Canada to play for the Whitecaps.  He only trained with them the Whitecaps while  his agent looked for teams in Europe that needed a natural left back. He did not play a match and has moved to Europe to advance his young career.

Last year, the five-foot-ten, 167-pound defender started 12 matches for 990 minutes with the Utah-based outfit. In his rookie season, Forko started 26 matches for 2,254 minutes and recorded one assist.

Forko, who was draft in the second round, 14th overall, of the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft by Real Salt Lake, enjoyed four successful years at the collegiate level. In his freshman year in 2002, the defender played at the University of South Carolina before transferring to the University of Connecticut for his final three seasons.

Forko finished his university career with three goals and 15 assists in 85 matches and was twice selected to the All-Big East Third Team. Forko majored in psychology.

Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Forko and his family moved to Houston, Texas, when he was three.

According to our sources, Farko is going to try to make the game in Sudan for the Liberian Sr. National  Football team.
