Liberia’s anticipation to play at the South Africa 2013
Nations Cup remains in a doubtful status due to the Lone
Star head coach Katyu Smith slowness to unveil his oversea
and local base players ahead of the 8th September clash in
Monrovia against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Will Liberians blame the FA or coach Smith for not designing
another method of punishment for the suspended Francis
Grandpa Doe, skipper Anthony Laffor and Dioh Williams? Or
they are going face the two encounters against Nigeria
without the country two scorers?
Recently the head coach of Lone Star Coach Smith in
collaboration with the Liberia Football Association
suspended the country two regular goals netters Francis
Grandpa Doe and Swedish base Dioh Williams from the national
team.
Although indiscipline’s is not encourage on the national
team, but many fans are requesting the FA and it technical
staff to draw up new measure against the players and recall
them to national duty due to the citizens zeal of seeing the
Nations Pride and Joy the Lone Star at the 2013 Nations Cup.
Liberia will play host to Nigeria in the first leg of the
final round of qualification for the 2013 Nations Cup, but
the Red, White and Blue boys need to win at home with more
goals and such a task need the inclusion of the country’s
regular netters to have a perfect job done.
Playing away to Nigeria during the second leg is a difficult
clash for the Liberian side to win in Nigeria, but a good
amount of goals from the first leg in Monrovia will serve a
motivation for the team to push for fewer goals even if they
are defeated by the Super Eagle in Nigeria.
Liberia can target a goal different qualification against
Nigeria, meaning Lone Star will have to win in Monrovia with
more goals and push for a draw or lesser goals defeat in
Nigeria.
Another issue that the FA needs to address is the issue of
Lone Star defensive midfielder Ben Teekloh return to the
national team, his experience and maturity in the center of
the pitch will improve the national team performance, then
to line-up Zah Krangar and Issa Pupo in the middle like what
happen in Equatorial Guinea during the international
friendlt that Liberia lost 0-1 away recently.
Krangar is well known for his offensive ability and creative
passes from the wings for the national team, not as a
defensive block.
Other coaches across Africa has listed the players that are
going to be use during this weekend qualifiers matches, but
Liberia head coach is yet to do so, he is one of the
national team coaches in Africa that do not follow the
players clubs activities.
