Trenton Chapter Gives Barrolle Major Boost
-Two-Month Salary Already Paid

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

The Financial Officer of the Mighty Barrolle Sports Association (MBSA), Mr. Aaron B. Kollie has confirmed the transfer of two months salary payment for football and basketball players of the Red Boys from the Trenton Chapter in the United States.

Also the Coordinator of the Barrolle Basketball squad, Mr. Kollie disclosed that the club had earlier received the first payment for both teams and now the second money has arrived for settlement.

However, he made it known that the payment for the basketball squad would not be made now as the team, as part of preparation for next season, is being reorganized, after when the team shall be paid.

The young sports manager indicated that there are plans to make the salaries of the players current, considering the low amount presently.

While he expressed appreciation to the Trenton Chapter for the bold and humanitarian step in taking Barrolle in rescuing Barrolle, Mr. Kollie is kneeling down to other chapters to see reasons in assisting to rebuild their mother club by financing the recruitment of the best players for both clubs of the Red Boys.

In recruiting the best, the Mighty Barrolle official is particularly concerned about the huge financial burden that goes along with it. For instance, he says it takes around US$300 to 400 to recruit a potential player from a rival club in basketball and football.

The Barrolle Financial Officer and Basketball Coordinator recalled how his club lost the likes of Ben Martin, Nuzohn Kulala and Solomon Grimes because the Rollers did not have the financial power to prevent them form joining LISCR FC. This, he does not want to be repeated.

Talking about gate intakes, Mr. Kollie believes they are too low to take Mighty Barrolle anywhere. The average intake per match this gone season for Barrolle is L$400. However, Barrolle got less than L$200 after some games.

"We resolved to go to Grand Bassa, but we spent L$15,000 for transportation and lodging, so that was a lost because we got nothing close to that amount," Kollie lamented.

"We commend them for the job well done but ask others to assist us with more assistance. We want more people to follow the Trenton Chapter."

During the visit of Mighty Barrolle President Garmondeh Karnga to the United States this year, he visited Chapters there and indicated the need to assist the club at home.

It was at this juncture that the Trenton Chapter agreed to settle the monthly salary of each player, which is put at US$20.00.

In fact, Mr. Kollie went as far as making available the signatures of players to indicate that they have already received their salaries.
