The Minnesota Thunder has announced the signing of Liberian forward
Melvin Tarley pending international clearance
The Thunder signed Tarley for the 2008 season also recalled another
Liberian forward Leo Gibson.
Melvin Tarley spent the 2007 season with the Puerto Rico Islanders and
Miami FC also of the United Soccer League.
The duration and value of the deal was not disclosed as per league
policy.
Melvin Tarley spent most of his playing time with the Minnesota
Thunder in the US.
The Liberian striker was one of the leading scorers for the Thunder
during his time at the club.
Thunder head coach Amos Magee said Melvin was a good player before
leaving them and has gotten even better with his tactical
understanding and maturity.
Magee revealed he could play the Liberian striker in the midfield and
his regular upfront role and stated Tarley had an excellent preseason
for them.
Melvin Tarley also played in the US top league, the Major League
Soccer for two clubs.
Tarley featured for the Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids before
returning to the United Soccer League.
