Theo Weeks in Transfer Triangle, while Tonia Tisdell moves
to Şanlıurfaspor

By Reporter
Reports emanating out of Turkey have it that Liberian
international midfielder Theo Weeks is locked in at transfer
triangle between Göztepe, Manisaspor, and Şanlıurfaspor.
According to the reports, the player current club Göztepe
has agreed to a transfer to newly promoted Turkish Bank Asya
League 1 rival Şanlıurfaspor, but the stalemate is over
Manisaspor insistence that the player had already signed a
preliminary two-year contract with them.
Meanwhile Tonia Tisdell has joined Şanlıurfaspor after his
employer, Ankaraspor, failed to secure reinstatement to the
Turkish second tier. It can be recalled that for the last
two months uncertainty hung Tisdell future when it was
unclear Ankaraspor could stage a successful comeback to
Turkish football.
In 2009 Ankaraspor was demoted from the Turkish Super League
over its unsportsmanlike incident with Ankaragücü, which was
ruled as contrary to sporting competitiveness. And in 2010
it was expelled from the Turkish Football League system
after refusal to accept the relegation penalty.
If Theo Weeks transfer to Şanlıurfaspor is successful, he
will once again linkup with fellow compatriot, Tisdell. Last
season the pair played together in the Turkish Super League
for Ankaragücü, but terminated their contracts over the
clubs failure to meet its financial commitment to players.
Weeks joined the Turkish second tier club Göztepe for the
rest of the season, while Tisdell moved to the Super League
side Mersin İdman Yurdu.
