Lone Star 4 Game Set

The Theo Weeks transfer saga continues

When the repots came out the ITC (International Player transfer Certificate) was released by the LFA, observers thought that the Theo Weeks transfer issue was resolved.

Liberiansoccer.com received an E-mail from the Watanga boss, Andy Quamie stating the contrary. In the e-mail the head man for Watanga , FC a Liberian based club and the club with that still has a contract in place with Weeks hinted that the LFA Sec. General Mr. George Williams was not telling the truth.

The E-mail said that all request for the contract between Theo Weeks and Ankaraspor in Turkey was not forth coming. The Lone Star Dep Coach, Kemal Halat was responsible for taking the player to Turkey. He has not come forward with the documents and has refused to make the documents avilible to the LFA, Watanga and Mighty Barrolle.

The player was a member of Barrolle and then transferred to Watanga. Barrolle is to get the development fee and Watanga the transfer fee. The LFA is to get a percentage of the transfer fee.

Watanga admitted in the E-mail that “we allowed the issuance of the IRTC for several reasons.

1. If we refused, under FIFA rules, the Turkish will issue provisional clearance allowing Theo to play.

2. Williams would have issued it without us knowing about it.

Nothing is settled regarding Theo transfer, do not let him lie to you. Quote me any day” the E-mail ended.

This issue needs to get settled. This is a business and clubs need the funding for player sales to buy new players. This is the way football is run.

The LFA needs to get the parties concerned on the table and serve as arbitrator to the amicable settlement of this issue. The LFA, the Mighty Barrolle ( Player Development) and Watanga are all parties that need to be at this table for settlement.
