The Confederation of African Football has
confirmed that Liberia will meet Nigeria
The Confederation of African Football has confirmed that Liberia will
meet Nigeria in the next round of the Under-20 Women’s qualifier.
In a communication to the Liberia Football Association Monday, CAF
said the first leg would be played on the weekend of April 28 to 30.
The regional football body said referees for that game would come from
the Ivory Coast.
The match commissioner will fly in from the Gambia.
There has been confusion over Liberia’s opponent in the final round of
the qualifier.
One report said Liberia would face Nigeria while another had it that
the country would meet South Africa.
This was creating serious concerns as it relates to the financing of
the return leg.
Liberia beat Algeria 3-2 in Algiers to advance to the final stage of
the World Under-20Women Championship.
The finals of the competition will be played in Russia.
Two from the four countries left in the competition will qualify for
the finals.
