Ben Teekloh being interviewed in Cameroon
Former Cameroonian based defensive midfielder Ben Teekloh is among 14
foreign-based players selected for the Liberian national team's
forthcoming matches in the 2004 African Nations Cup qualifying stage.
Ben Teekloh, 19, sprung into the Lone Star during the last World Cup
Qualifiers and made his debut against Cote d’Ivoire in a special
tourney in Abidjan in 2001.
The lithe midfielder gifted with lovely skills helped Cameroonian side
TKC to the finals of 2002 CAF Cup that they lose to reigning holders
JS Kabylie of Algeria.
He will join United States based Zizi Roberts, the Greek duo of George
Gebro and Oilver Makor, as well as Alvin Power Kieh of Cyprus and
Larmine Ousam of Floda Bolf of Sweden.
BK Hacken trio- Dulee Johnson, Jimmy Dixon and Dioh Williams are also
named to the team. Kadala Kromah also attracted Prince Daye and Frank
Seator of Club Africain and Esperance in Tunisia respectively.
Veteran Al Jazira midfielder Kelvin Sebwe and Edward Zico Dixon who
plays in France for Bourg Peronnas are two other experienced players
selected.
Of the 14 foreign-based players called, there are reports that Dulee
Johnson, Dioh Williams and Lamine Ousmane will also form part of the
Lone Under-23 team that will meet Ghana's Black Meteors in the 2004
Olympic qualifiers.
Meanwhile, twenty-five local talents currently undergoing training for
the 2004 Olympic qualifier against the Black Meteors of Ghana next
June has beefed up their training.
The players who are said to be responding to training include Isaac
Tondo, Varney Boakai, Mark Jaedoe, Rufus Salue, Frederick Vah, Solomon
Grimes, Takpo Sonkarliey, Sackie Doe, Blamo Weah, Emmanuel Gbamy,
Kpannah Doe and Sekou Monuba.
Others are Henry Gobah, Hoff Fannoh, Anthony Langford, Anthony Taylor,
Steve Nagbe, Isaac Popu, Joel Outland, Alphan Allen, Little Lewis,
Bill Paytoe, Sam Doe and Titus Nippy.
