Sports Ministry Warns Violent Fans

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has warned violent fans
ahead of the match between Liberia and Senegal on Sunday, October
10.
In a Statement, the Sports Ministry's Spokesman Mohammed Kamara called
on fans to adhere to the rules and regulations governing
international matches, with the hope that they would pay heed.
Mr. Kamara spoke against the acts of throwing cans, with urines in
them, on the pitch, jumping over the fence and throwing objects on
the crowd.
"Any misguided sports fan will be put out of the field in order to
secure our points and goals," Kamara stated.
He added, "I am requesting your utmost support in cheering the
National Team to victory without any act that may disturb the
match."
He expressed the confidence that security condition will be more
than the previous matches.
Kamara told Liberians to demonstrate the virtue of good
sportsmanship during the pending match. "Please wear your red
t-shirts, blouses or shirts and cheer your team to victory."
He said only match officials, the two teams, ambulance, police,
journalists and ball boys would be allowed around the perimeter of
the pitch.
Meanwhile, the prices for tickets to the match has been released
by the Sports Ministry.
VIP ticket will cost L$2,000.00, L$600.00 for "Around VIP",
L$300.00 for Stadium Wing and L$150.00 for "Around the Field."
Gates will open at 8:00AM and tickets to be sold at the SKD Sports
Complex, Sports Commission, Youth and Sports Ministry, Rivoli
Cinema, the ATS, Logan Town Cinema and Joe Bar market. |
