Solo Marks Return With Defeat
USA Unbeaten Run Ends

Liberian international defender Solomon Grimes marked his return to the top flight

Wleh Bedell

Young Liberian international defender Solomon Grimes marked his return to the top flight with a defeat for his side LISCR FC when they were prey to a resiliant

Gedi & Sons 1-2 in continuation of the LFA premiership at the ATS on Friday.

The clever defender whose trip to Greece for a trial with Division one outfit Larisa did not materialise after he failed to obtain a visa from the Greek embassy in Nigeria which was reportedly close could not help his new club as they only managed a consolation via wing back Gizzie Dorbor in a rather disappointing fashion.

Captain Ben Nyaforh was rested on the day to allow the pair of Solo and national team reserve George Baysah to operate, but not did not yield much fruit as they succumbed to the Patrick Garwo's chargers.

The win takes the new premiership entrants to 17 points on the log with a game on hand while their opponents' LISCR linger at the middle of the table with 13 points and a game on hand against an improved Breweries who narrowly defeated Watanga on Wednesday at the NPA-Sports pitch.

Earlier in the day, USA unbeaten run in the First Division came to and end when they were brought down to earth by an odd goal from Second placed Exodus.

Despite the loss the Gardnersville based outfit remains in pole position in their quest to move to the top flight.

On Thursday, Invincible Eleven (IE) impeded LPRC-Oilers hope of leading the elite stage when they frustrated the oil boys by a late minute solitary goal through the towering Lincoln Gatei as he punished his former team mate Nelson Teah in goal.

The loss means the Rollers with one game on hand against NPA-Anchors have now eclipsed the Oilers at the top on superior goal difference as both sides have 18 points and a game each remaining.

Meanwhile, the Gabriel Johns side end their first phase fixture on Today Saturday in what should be described as an easy test against point donors Mark Pros while the Rollers face a tricky test against NPA-later during the week.

Before the Oilers, Mark Pros pairing Gardnersville FC will entertain Johnson Conquerors in a Second Division battle at the ATS.
