Throw Weight
As the Liberia Football Association, LFA, conducts its regular and
general congress and elections this month, the former First Division &
National team players have endorsed Mr. Siaka A. Sheriff, and his
running mates for the Presidency of the LFA.
According to a dispatch from the group, the former first division
national team members said, they have disassociated
themselves from the recent statement made by some members of the
former Lone Star players Association, pledging their support for Cllr.
S. Izetta Wesley as their LFA’s presidential candidate.
In a release signed by the association’s acting chairman, Coach David
Nimely, listing of the former Lone Star players that completely
differed from the recent opinions of some former Lone Star players,
that gave support to Cllr. Wesley for the LFA presidency; but, rather
support Mr. Siaka A. Sheriff who is vying for the presidency, with
Pennoh Bestman as vice president for Administration and, Adolph
Lawrence, vice president for Operations respectively.
Some former first division players that willingly endorsed Siaka
included Coach Josiah N. Johnson, David Nimely, Nelson Sonpon and
Coach Navarro Sackie.
Others include Robert Seaton, Wilfred Lander, Aloysus Jlateh,
Lucretius Togba and Coach Frank Jericho Nagbe. While Coach Jokar
Wreaher, Felix Kofa, alias “Koko Wleh”, Raymond Molton and Hazard Gray
have all supported the decision of the former first division and
national team players.
Coach Teah Sampson, alias “Fokofo”, Sayon David, alias “Experience”,
the head of the Kasumu Sillah Fondation, Coach Sillah and Sibo Doe, as
well as Darlington Boye, Paul Japppeh, and Victor Sieh, among others
are part of the listing.
