Sheriff Rescues LFA Sub-Committees


 Ahead of plans to shut down various leagues in and around Monrovia, the former Vice President of the Liberia Football Association, (LFA) Siaka Sheriff, has provided financial assistance to several sub-committees.

According to reports, Mr. Sheriff provided the assistance based on his love for the game and to make sure that the local leagues are held in every part of the country.

Though the total cash donated to more the eight sub-committees of the LFA has not been disclosed, but heads of the various leagues have expressed relief and thanked the former Vice President for the gesture.

Sub-committees benefiting from the donation include , Central Monrovia, New Kru Town, Logan Town, Paynesville, among others.

When the UFACOM and Central Monrovia League Chairman, Abraham Sheriff, was contact to comment on the donation he neither denied nor confirmed the issued.

Heads of the various sub-committees have been faced with serious financial problems in running the leagues in their respective communities and were on the verge of shutting down.

Observers say the gesture by Mr. Sheriff did not come as a surprise because he considers the sub-committees and associations
