Shame
On IE Administration

IE New Chairman Nyenabo
By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
Fans of the once Darling Club, Invincible Eleven (IE)
are demanding the team from their administration, headed by Isaac
Nyenabo, and the Willard Russell-led Board.
“We want the administration to resign and turn the team over
to us,” demanded Alpha Mansaray, Financial Secretary and Treasurer of
the Montserrado Chapter of IE.
For some times now, the Montserrado Chapter of IE has
been shouldering the burden of the team due to the apparent lack of
concern for the Yellow Boys by the leadership.
Nyenabo, who is also the Comptroller General of
Liberia, has arguably failed to live up to expectation despite
bragging initially that he would return glory to the side. But from
the look of things, Nyenabo, who said he was not taking over IE for
political gain, is now actively involved with his ambition of becoming
Senator of Grand Gedeh.
It is therefore not a surprise that the Montserrado
Chapter through Mr. Mansaray is calling for the complete turn over of
the team to them.
“We wrote the board complaining about the attitude of
the administration but up to now, no response,” Mansaray disclosed.
He added that since the commencement of the current
National League, only the fans have been taking care of the team.
IE forfeited the knockout fixture to little known
Devereux due to strike over salary arrears by players.
Mansaray claimed that they have provided medical
assistance, fuel for the bus for every practice session and game
bonuses without the assistance of the IE administration.
According to him, it was the Monstserrado that gave
“July 26” bonus to the players after the legitimate leadership failed
to do so.
He cried that the fans were in a dilemma, as money was
needed for the team’s next match on Sunday.
He, meanwhile, urged fans of IE to “give their little
contributions” in order for the team to end their remaining games of
the season.
“We advise individuals giving money to players to stop.
They should rather channel the money through the Montserrado Chapter
so that we can equally give the money to the players,” he concluded.
