One of Liberia's young emerging sensational football stars, Zico
Edward Janjay Morgan, has expressed his happiness ahead of his
football expedition to one of Europe's superb football nations,
Scotland.
Morgan, who was recommended to the Celtic Football Academy by a
Scottish visiting football tactician, only named as Alex, will tour
the Celtic Academy early next year for a week.
After the tour, Coach Alex and Morgan's present Coach Clinton Weiah
would discuss the player's future with the academy.
The player, who is an graduate student from the St. Dominic Catholic
School in Bomi County, plies his football trade for the school; as
talisman, he scored several goals for his alma mater.
As a dynamo skipper for Bomi County, Morgan was instrumental in taking
Bomi as far as the quarter finals of the Sports for Peace tournament.
The 17-year-old player, who has been hailed for keeping his nerve and
cool, even in high tempo derby, said he is training three times a day
to be fit for any eventual trial that would arise.
In a Daily Observer interview, Morgan said he is very passionate about
the opportunity and wants to make the maximum use of it.
“I want to play top-flight football in Europe,” he declared.
Morgan experienced a glamorous second phase of the league season with
third division side Mighty Angel, scoring six goals in five matches.
Mighty Angel did win the Liberia Football Association Bomi's third
division championship but failed to make the journey to Monrovia for
the playoff stages of league owing to financial constraints.
Owing to controversy over Morgan's transferred from Momgongo F.C. to
Mighty Angel he was not allowed to play the first phase of the league
season.
He lauded his current manager Clinton Weiah for assisting him on his
game.
Weiah last year led Bomi in the nation's biggest football fiesta where
Morgan played as second striker.
