IPOH: Striker Frank Seator is keen to lead the Perak attack again
but the Liberian has been told that he has to take the initiative to
get back into the team.
Team manager Datuk Jamal Nasir Rasdi said that Seator, the top scorer
for Perak with 14 goals last season, informed him on Monday that he
was ready to take the next flight out to Malaysia.
“I made him no promises on getting a place in the team again. I told
him that if he was sincere in wanting to help Perak again, he should
buy the air ticket on his own first and come here to prove his worth,”
said Jamal.
The Perak FA deputy president said that it was important for them to
see whether Seator was fit, injury free and ready to see action
immediately.
“We must remember that when he left us in October last year, he was
carrying a leg injury,” said Jamal.
Perak are looking at hiring a striker to help solve their woes in
attack. They are in sixth position in the eight-team Super League with
eight points from nine matches and they have only seven goals to show.
Jamal added that they have another candidate in mind but he chose not
to reveal his identity.
Perak can sign on two more foreign players. Those now in their ranks
are attacking midfielders Keita Mandjou from Guinea and Abdoulaye
Troare from Burkina Faso.
Lanky striker Hamed Diallo from Ivory Coast, who was a Golden Boot
winner twice in the last eight years in the French League, is
currently on trials.
There is now a break in the Super League because of the national
team's participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games, beginning in
Saudi Arabia next Friday.
The league competition resumes on April 26 and Perak will be at home
to Malacca Telekom. But Perak will see action on April 6 – in an AFC
Cup Group D match at home against Hong Kong’s Sun Hei.
