SWAL Sets Up Constitution Review Committee

The leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) has announced the setting of a four man Constitution Review Committee.

SWAL in a release issued Thursday May 17, 2012 named veteran journalist Zogar Jynes as chairman with the association former president Momolu V.O. Sirleaf serving as Co-Chair on the committee.

Other members serving on the committee include another former SWAL President Malcolm Joseph and former Vice President Albert Jaja, now Assistant Minister for Information Services at the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism as Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

According to the release, the committee is charged with the responsibility of upgrading SWAL’S current constitution to conform to present day reality.

SWAL said the committee will add or amend provisions or articles in the constitution where necessary with a one month mandate.

Meanwhile, SWAL has announced that modalities are on the way for the launch of its membership drive in Margibi County later this month.
