Rwandans Give Reasons For Not Honoring Friendly International

The head of the Rwanda Football Delegation said the lack of proper arrangement led to their failure to honor a friendly international on Monday.

Mr. Boniface Dennis told journalists that there was no pre match meeting between they and Barrolle.

Mr. Dennis said they made several attempts to get in touch with the leadership of Barrolle on Sunday evening but all proved unsuccessful.

He said they regretted the match could not take place on Monday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Barrolle had announced a friendly with Rwanda stating that it had concluded every arrangement.

However, the game failed to take place after reports said the Rwandans were demanding five thousand United States Dollars upfront.

The president of Barrolle Gramondeh Karnga told a local radio station that an executive of the LFA informed the guests that they could not guarantee their security for the match.

Mr.Karnga made specific reference to LFA Vice President for Operations Adolph Lawrence. But Mr. Lawrence has termed the allegation as unfortunate.

He accused the Barrolle president of failing to properly negotiate the game.

Mr. Lawrence called for a retraction of the allegation and has also urged the Barrolle president to explain what he called the actual story to fans of the team.

The Wasps of Rwanda departed Liberia on Tuesday
