Rolled Over: LISCR Moves Second On Premiership Table, Beat Mighty Barrolle 2-1

Monrovia - Premiership defending champions LISCR FC moved into the second position on the Liberia Football Association league table after a 2- 1triumph over Mighty Barrolle at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia Thursday.

Ben Martin opened the scoring for LISCR in the 15th minute while Marcus Macaulay added a second in the 22nd minute. The Rollers’ Beekie Williams pulled one back in the 56th minute to close the gap. The victory increased LISCR points tally to 27, equaling Nimba United, Monrovia Club Breweries and Jubilee, although LISCR lead the pack on goal difference.

Earlier in the day, Green pasture ended Fatu FC winning ways in the premiership with a 2-1 win while Black Star were 3-1 winners against Mighty Electrons in the first division at the Nancy B. Doe sports ground in Kakata City, Margibi County.

The league continues today with Exodus battling Young Professionals in the first division while the Sensational LPRC Oilers, currently seated six on the premiership table meet third place Monrovia Club Breweries to end the day.

In other First Division matches, St. Joseph Warriors will engage Bassa Defender at the Unification Sports Stadium in Lower Margibi County, while Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA) United face off against Gbaisue FC at the Nancy Doe Sports ground in Kakata Margibi County second division battle. In the day’s final duel, Millennium FC takes on Mighty Electrons.

On Saturday, the undefeated Gedi and Sons will rub shoulders with FC Satellite at the Unification Town Sports Stadium in Margibi County. The premiership league leaders Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) will meet fourth place Jubilee FC in Sunday’s most talk about battle at the ATS preceded by the 72nd FC match against Small Town in the second division. BYC’s youngsters will take on Defender Guidance in the day’s other match.
