Pythons and IE Beaten in Basketball Championships

Liberia’s two representatives to this year’s African Basketball Championship for Men were defeated on Tuesday.

The sides went down in their third round of games.

Invincible Eleven suffered the worst defeat of the two.

IE went down to Plateau Peak of Nigeria 58 to 94 points.

The defeat was the basketball champions third in the competition.

Africa Sports of Ivory Coast whipped IE 59 to 42 points in her second game on Monday.

NPA Pythons suffered its first defeat in the competition after a very narrow defeat.

BACK of Guinea pinned Pythons 52 to 51 points in a nil biting showpiece.

The qualifier tournament that is taking place in Ivory Coast will continue today with the two Liberia teams in action.

Meanwhile, the President of the Liberia Basketball Federation has been elected as one of the vice presidents of FIBA-Africa.

Madam Gbour Wilson was elected Vice President of FIBA central Board for Women and Children Affairs.

The election took place during the congress of FIBA-Africa held in Ivory Coast.
