Premier League
Clubs Return To ATS

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
June 11, 2004-The 2004
National Football League is scheduled to continue at the Antoinette
Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Lynch Street.
The league rested last weekend as the
national soccer team Lone Star began its 2006 African Cup of Nations
and World Cup campaign against Mali.
At least six clubs in the Premier League will be
involved in the weekend's actions at the ATS.
On Friday, reigning champions LPRC Oilers will take on Alliance FC
in the day's only match.
The Oilers have acquired most of the country's
best talents this season but they have found it difficult in finding
victory. Most of Oilers' matches ended in draws and one loss to
Mighty Barrolle, unless for three points that were waved to them as
a result of IE's failure to appear.
The next game will see Mighty Barrolle, led by
Fredrick Vah, meeting Shoes FC on Saturday.
With six points from four matches, the Rollers must win this one to
get back on course after losing one match to Monrovia Club Breweries
as well as the LFA's decision to take three points from them due to
their fans' violent attitude shown against IE.
There will also be one match on Sunday when Invincible
Eleven (IE) engages LISCR FC at the same venue.
IE will be hoping for a victory in order to accumulate
twelve points after the Liberia Football Association (LFA) decided
to award three points to the Sunshine Yellow Boys whose match with
archrivals Mighty Barrolle was disrupted by angry fans who were
protesting the expulsion of Solomon Grimes when the two sides met on
May 30, 2004 at the ATS.
However, LISCR will be a hard nut to crack
as it has already grabbed eight points.
Infact former IE skipper Blamo Weah will no doubt be in the LISCR
line-up along with rising star Henry Gobah and prolific scorer Hoff
Fannoh in attack.
