With three days to the 2004 African Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Mena of Niger, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) has disclosed that ten foreign-based have been invited based on a selection submitted by the technical staff of the national team.

In an update chat with LFA General Secretary Yanqueh Borsay yesterday, out of the ten foreign-based players invited, Alvin "Power" Kieh has already arrived in the country, while some of the players were expected on Brussels Airlines yesterday, and the rest this week.

Commenting on, Chief Scribe Borsay said the likes of Kelvin Sebwe, Dulee Johnson, Fallah Johnson, Prince Daye, Jimmy Dixon, Josephus Yenay and Anthony Ballah are expected. He also disclosed that Christopher Wreh is expected based on reports he received also, but quickly pointed that he was not included on the list submitted by the technical staff.

Another foreign-based player who is in town is Larmin Ousmane, who plies his trade in Sweden. He is presently on private visit and decided to train with the Lone Star. Reports received by our Sports Desk have it that Ousmane is a good defensive player who the technical staff can make use of on Saturday.

Chief Scribe Borsay also disclosed that pro player George Gebro is still finding it difficult with his club officials on grounds that they want him to stay for their match on Sunday, October 13, 2002. "Gebro has told us that he and his manager are doing everything to secure his release for the match on Saturday," Mr. Borsay disclosed.

As for Oliver Makor, the Chief Scribe said the LFA could not get hold of the midfielder. "We tried all of the numbers we obtained but we could not make contact with Makor. It is therefore impossible for him to be here when in fact we could not make contact with him."

Meanwhile, goalie Louis Crayton has told the LFA that he is not coming for the match because he has gotten an offer in Germany to justify his inclusion for a new contract. Crayton has been without a contract for some time now. Many Liberians believe it was due to him being out of contract that has led to his fair performance in recent time.

With these developments, it is not known which local goalkeeper will man the post on Saturday. Presently there are three local goalkeepers training in persons of Lartee Jackson, Saylee Swen and Boye Pratt.

Some bookmakers are calling on the Lone Star technical staff to include Barrolle A-1 goalie Nagbe and former Lone Star A-1 Pewu Bestman. "These two goalkeepers are very experienced and could prove pundits right on Saturday against Niger," a fan remarked yesterday.

The ball is now in the court of coach Kadalah Kromah and his staff to put things in order for the match on Saturday
