Mr. Paul Dadzie, a one-time goalkeeper of the Liberian national soccer
squad, Lone Star, is dead.
The former goalie died on Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital
following a protracted period of illness.
According to friends of the late Dadzie, during the time of his
sickness, his wife, Grace Dadzie along with other relatives and
friends catered to him to be gradually recovering.
However, by the end of last year, his condition worsened, but no
sporting institution in the country went to his aid to assist seek
immediate medical attention.
Notwithstanding, his wife Grace stood by him until the last days doing
what she could under the vow of “for better or for worse” during their
holy matrimony.
Prior to Paul Dadzie’s death, some former Lone Star players managed to
come to his aid but, according to sources, it was too late as his
condition continued to deteriorate.
Meanwhile, our reporter who visited the Caldwell residence of the
fallen brother saw hundreds of sympathizers pouring in their numbers
to express their condolence.
It can be recalled that Mr. Dadzie played for one of Liberia’s top
clubs, the St. Joseph Warrior (FC) in the early 80s.
He subsequently traveled to the United States of America to further
his education, where earned his first degree in Economics
