The head coach of the Liberia national team, Mr. Kadala Kromah is insisting that the Lone Star plays an international test match before her African Cup of Nations qualifying encounter with Ethiopia come March 30.

He hinted that Liberia is the only country that has not played a single test match,
international in scope, something he said, does not augur well for the team's qualifying campaign for Tunisia 2004.

Coach Kromah, alias 'Scientific', stressed that test matches are intended to test the strength of the national team and enable the technical staff carry out selection of players to form part of the team's line up.

The Lone Star's head coach was speaking recently at his University of Liberia's office during an exclusive interview with The INQUIRER SPORTS.

He suggested that the national flag-bearers should test her strength against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone or the Black Stars of Ghana since in fact, the two countries are not in the same zone with Liberia.

He went on to say, "we missed the Niger competition which would have enabled us (the technical staff) to be judgmental about our selection of players. Coach Kromah was making reference to a special football tournament organized last December by the Nigerien FA for which Liberia was invited to participate. Liberia failed to honor the competition, citing the usual 'no money syndrome'.
