Omega Closing on UEFA Football
By Wleh Bedell
Serbian club Sloboda Sevojno Liberian defense ace Omega
Roberts will know in the next 90 minutes as to whether he
will play UEFA club football or not next season. With his
club at the 5th spot on 48 points, Omega and co. will have
to pull a win in their last match this Saturday and at the
same time hope that third place Vojvodina or 4th place
Jagodina with 49 and 48 points respectively get a slip off.
Last weekend, Sloboda drubbed Hajduk Kula 4-2 and will be
hoping to continue such form as they also hope luck will be
on their side against the two sides ahead of them.
The 22 year old who has had stints in the Ivory Coast, Congo
Brazzaville, Cameroon and Mali was recently called by the
Lone Star for the ensuing qualifiers beginning with Senegal
on June 2, which will be his second international since
partnering with senior compatriot Jimmy Dixon in the defense
in a 2008 qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi in a match the
hosts won 3-2 at the ATS.
