Tuesday, 15 August 2006

There were wins for LPRC Oilers and Monrovia Breweries in the premier league on Sunday.

Oilers beat Mark Pro 1-0 at the Nancy Doe Stadium in Kakata.
Patrick Grannue scored the winner for the defending champions.

Earlier at the same venue, Millinium Stars beat Young Pro 2-1.
Monrovia Breweries escaped the relegation zone after a 1-0 win over Watanga FC.

Joshua Morris scored the winner for Breweries early in the first half.
The head coach of Breweries, Francis Sarploh said the win was significant in the club’s pursuit to remain in the premiership.

Coach Sarploh said although the club was undergoing administrative and financial difficulties they do all to keep its prestige.

He warned championship contenders to be mindful of Monrovia Breweries as the season draws to a close.

In the second division at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, United Green Eagles and Exodus FC settled to a 1-1 draw.

The game in Buchanan did not take place due to the over flooding of the field.

Mighty Barrolle should have taken on NPA Anchors in the premiership.
