Oilers Held By mark PROS

                    Oilers at the Break

Wleh Bedell

Slight league leaders LPRC-Oilers failed to increase their lead at the top when they were held to a stunning 1-1 draw to minnows Mark Pros at the ATS.

In a match dubbed a one way traffic, the Oil boys failed to turn their lion share of possession into goals, and were even given an early shock when they conceded from the spot courtesy of a Patrick Nimely experienced execution which sent goalie Saylee Swen the wrong way after 52 minutes.

The goal however came against the run of play as the Gabriel Johns side were dictating the rhythm of the match.

Then after the goal, the Oilers opponents' resulted to negative football as they reverted to defense leaving just one player on top in an attempt to frustrate their opponents' on Saturday.

But, after an incessant pressure where the likes of Mardie Rennie,Alfred Kortu and crew made inroads, the strugglers had to give in.

It was a costly mistake from the goal scorer Patrick Nimely whose miss kick was good omen to the former champions as second half substitute Augustine Flomo released play mate Solomon Wesseh who easily tapped in the ball to beat goalie Augustine Hinneh.

The draw means the Oilers have ended the first phase with 19 points, while their contenders mighty Barrolle play their last match later on during the day against NPA.

The rollers are now with 18 points and superior goal difference ahead of the Oil boys.
