With one round of games remaining
Oilers of the Liberia Petroleum Refinery Corporation, (LPRC)
have clinched the Liberian title.
Oilers beat Monrovia Club Breweries 2-0 over the weekend on
the artificial turf at the Antoinette Tubman stadium in the
Liberian capital.
The win gave Oilers an unbeatable 26 points from 14 matches
played so far in the eight-team league.
Coach Kadala Kromah is already looking forward to returning
to continental club football and told BBC Sport that the likes
of Enyimba and Esperance should watch out for his youthful
side.
"I'm extremely happy. We needed a team for continental club
football and LPRC Oilers will be there," the former Lone Star
coach said.
"The Enyimba's and Esperance's better be mindful of the
sensational LPRC-Oilers. We are going for the one million
dollars."
The Anchors of the National Port Authority finished as
runners up with 24 points having played all their fixtures.
Two of the country's biggest Invincible Eleven and Mighty
Barrolle, last year's champions, are in relegation trouble and
need to win their final matches to survive.
