Oilers Become
Basketball Champions

The LPRC Oilers are the new basketball champions of Liberia after they
overcame previous
champions NPA Pythons on Sunday at the Sports Commission on Broad
Street.
Before a large crowd that included LPRC Managing Director Edwin M.
Snowe, the Oilers
triumphed by winning all quarters of the match.
LPRC Oilers won the first quarter with 22-16, the second with 39-29
and then the third with
59-41 before the sealing victory with 73-66.
A possible candidate for the Most Valuable Player award, Bashu Turay
was carried shoulder
high by fans of the LPRC Oilers due to his splendid showing during the
championship decider.
Before the Oilers could celebrate over the NPA Pythons, both sides
stood at two-all following
the first four matches of the grand final.
