No Financial Benefit For Gedi & Sons FC

 by Horatio Bobby Willie
Monday, 11 December 2006

The President of Gedi & Sons FC says his club did not get any financial benefit from Ivorian clubs.

Mr. Patrick Garwo said he was not interested in taking money from the two clubs that signed on his players in the Ivory Coast.

Mr.Garwo said he did so in order for Gedi to get a good share of the spoils when the players eventually move to Europe.

He said he did not want to repeat the mistake made by older clubs in Liberia.

Seven players of Gedi &Sons joined two Ivorian clubs last month. Five signed for Sewe Sport while the other two joined ranks with Stade d’Abidjian.

Mr.Garwo told Star Radio the deals were attractive and in the best interest of the players.

He disclosed that his club would soon lunch a massive recruitment drive to replace the seven players.

The Gedi &Sons President said he returned to the country with three players. He took ten players to Ivory Coast for tryouts.
