No Peace Yet For IE Vice President

Coach Raymond Moulton v
indicated Mr. Dukuly from any wrongdoing
By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

The row surrounding the US$5,000.00 scandal involving Malike Dukuly continues unabated within Invincible Eleven (IE). The IE Vice President for Operations stands accused for receiving the money in question for the transfer of former player Bob Zeo to Ghanaian side Heart of Lion.

Mr. Dukuly has since admitted receiving the money during his trip to Ghana, but his failure to deliver the amount to the IE administration has created a sour relationship between him and the family of the Sunshine Yellow Boys.

Despite Mr. Dukuly's claims that he expended the amount on the team, including paying salary arrears to players and technical officials, the IE Montserrado Chapter said he has no right to do so.
The group indicated that Mr. Dukuly is capable, in his status as Vice President of IE, in settling salaries and purchasing boots. Yet it said that his decision to pay salaries has nothing to do with the US$5,000 received in Ghana. "All we know is that the US$5,000 is still in his possession even though he is spending money on his own."

The Montserrado Chapter sees itself and the IE administration as the only legitimate bodies capable of clearing Mr. Dukuly of the scandal he finds himself in.

Some players as well as the head coach and team manager of IE were quoted by a press release as vindicating Mr. Dukuly from any wrongdoing but the Montserrado Chapter condemned the move.
The group made it clear to Mr. Dukuly that the players have nothing to do with administrative matter. The IE Montserrado termed the players as "just employees that can be fired and replaced."

To the players, the group said "even their usefulness can be declared useless."

The Montserrado Chapter continued, "if the players can give him clearance which he is boasting of, then let him fly with it."

The IE Chapter, meanwhile, mandated Mr. Dukuly to appear before it and the entire IE administration on Wednesday, April 20, for a conference. "But failure to do so, he will have himself to blame," the Chapter warned.

The Montserrado Chapter did not rule out the possibility of bringing a lawsuit against Mr. Dukuly of he persists on holding unto to the club's money.

The IE chapter threatened to get their colleagues in the Diaspora involved as well as the Heart of Lion which made the payment to the accused.
