New Post For Former Chief Referee

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

The former Chief Football Referee of Liberia, Benedict Yarsiah has
been named to a new position in football circles.

Making the disclosure, Mr. Yarsiah indicated that he is now the
Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Administration of the
Liberia Football Association (LFA), Pennoh W. Bestman.

Mr. Yarsiah’s new duties would require him to conduct the affairs
of the LFA Vice President for Administration.

Mr. Yarsiah has promised to effectively run the affairs of the LFA
Vice President.

The FIFA badge referee, who has traveled to numerous countries to
officiate matches, has pledged to live to the confident reposed in him
by his principal. The appointment seems to be a relief for the veteran referee after he was removed as Chief Referee upon the ascendancy of Idrissa Kaba, another former Chief Referee, now President of the Liberia Football Referees Association (LIFRA).

The appointment of Yarsiah was apparently prompted by Mr. Bestman’s current engagement as Deputy Managing Director of the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

This post requires the LFA Vice President for Administration to
travel to Harbel, Margibi County for work on a daily basis, thus making it necessary the appointment of Yarsiah.
