National league continues today

Round 10 of the National championship tournament dubbed “Cellcom National League” continues today in Kakata, Unification town and Monrovia.

Beginning in Monrovia, Aries takes on Georgia FC in the 2nd division at the Tusa field in Gardnersville, in the suburb of Monrovia.

Still in Monrovia at the ATS, three games will take place: Island Queens meets Tito Sisters in the female division; Devereux meets Watanga in the premier division.

The last match is also in the premier division between LISCR FC and UMC Roots at the ATS. There will be a single game in Unification between league toppers Mighty Blue Angels and LPRC Oilers.

In Kakata Margibi County, 2nd division side Gbaisue FC takes on N.G. Pirates, while Millennium Star faces Gedi &Sons in the 1st division clash.

The league resumed on Monday April 23 following a weeklong break, giving into the knockout version of the competition.

Monday’s Results: Warndeh FC 1, Small Town 2; and Bassa Defenders 0, Young Pro 5 (the win now puts Young Pro on tops of the 1st division table with 18 pts).

Monrovia Club Breweries continues to top the premier league table on goal difference ahead of Jubilee FC 10goals to 6. Both teams are tied at 22 points apiece. Defending champions LISCR FC is in second position with 19, BYC 18 and Nimba United 17.

Meanwhile, eight teams have qualified for the quarter finals of the Knockout competition: Mighty Blue Angels vs. Mighty Electron; BYC II vs. Gardnersville FC (games in Unification Town).
