Playing against one of Africa's greatest teams, Etoile Du
Sahel, is no easy task especially when it is your debut as a
youngster. But, young Liberian striker Thompson Nagbe seemed
to have settled in Tunisia when on his debut for top flight
outfit Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise (JSK) managed to score
against Etoile Du Sahel in a thrilling match in continuation
of the Tunisian national league known as Ligue 1.
The lad who was spotted by the club while on trail with
Czech Republic Second Division side FK Siab who were unable
to meet the demands of the player's Ghanaian club Berekum
Chelsea, according to a dispatch from Tunisia was
outstanding against Etoile and came on from the bench after
80 minutes to find his side leveller in what was described
as a wonderful goal as he used his strength to bewilder the
opponents defense in rattling the net before Etoile restored
parity to end the match 2-1 in their favor through a goal in
the 90th minute.
A host of Newspapers the dispatch further indicated have
already said volumes of the young Liberian forward who seems
to be heading for bigger things in the North African state.
It can be recollected that on July 17, this year, Nagbe
signed a three year dea with the Tunisian side and looks to
have settled there so early. JSK was founded in 1942 and has
green and white as their official colors. With the early
exploits, Nagbe will certainly be idolized at the club's
25,000 capacity Stade Ali Zouaoui where he should be more
ominous along with teammates.
With the rising star yet to feature for the Lone Star, he
could be on the radar and if he continues such imperious
form for club why should he not be given a call to help the
red, white and blue outfit, the nation's pride and joy get
out of its current lackluster state.
