NPA Anchors have suffered a disappointing home defeat in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup encounter.
The Anchors went down at home to a rather les impressive Senegalese club at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Saturday.

US Goree of Senegal whipped NPA Anchors 3-2.

US Goree took the lead in the first minute of the match with a brilliant strike from Ibolu N’diame.
The visitors made it two in the 11th minute of the match.

Tormentor in chief Souleymane Abdourahame got the goal from a well-coordinated attack.

NPA defensive midfielder Robert Teah was judged guilty for the goal.

The Anchors reduced the lead in the 43rd minute from a Melvin George header.

Matters became worse for the host in the 67th minute when captain Jacob Blamo gave away a ball in the center circle.

The resulting attack saw the NPA Captain finishing for US Goree by hitting the ball at the back of his own net.

The Anchors got another consolation goal in the 87th minute after Jasper Kun perfectly executed a Melvin George through pass in the 87th minute.

The defeat has given NPA a slim chance in the second leg.

The Anchors must win in Dakar two weeks from now in order to secure a place in the next round of the CAF Cup Competition.
