NPA Anchors have won the Liberia Football Association Knockout
Competition.
The Anchors did so in grand style with a 3-2 win over Mighty
Barrolle in post match penalty kicks.
NPA won the competition on Friday after their sides failed to score
in the remaining fifteen minutes of the knockout final continuation.
The teams played to a 2-2 draw on two occasions.
Last Sunday, the game between Barrolle and NPA Anchors could not end
due to poor visibility at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
However, the 15 minutes did not provide the expected excitement as
Barolle who were playing 10 against 11 decided to slow down the
game.
The Liberia Football Association will soon announced the date for
the Super Cup game.
Meanwhile, the President of the Barrolle Sports Association has
expressed regrets that his team was forced to play for fifteen
minutes on last Friday.
Mr.Gramondeh Karnga claimed the LFA acted against the will of
Barrolle.
Mr.Karnga said he expected the football house to give consideration
since it was a knockout final.
The Barrolle president also claimed the action was intended to deny
Barrolle of the triple championship.
Football regulations state that any game that is discontinued
because of natural or non-natural causes should be continued from
the point it stopped
