The President of the National Port Authority Sports association, Mr.
Jimmy Toe, has called on the Liberia Basketball Federation, LBF to
please reduce the disciplinary punishment given the club.
Mr. Toe
said, the incident was a technical error by the club and promised
that it will not be repeated as long as he remains President of the
association.
According to the NPA prexy, the LBF should at least lift up the
suspension and allow them pay the fined as was included in the
punishment, something he said, if holds may not offer well for the
club.
Mr. Toe said, even though the punishment was given on a
constitution basis, but in time like these the federation should
consider certain issues.
He said, his association regrets the incident but called on the
LBF to consider the decision, stressing that such a punishment is
not healthy for both the league and the club.
He used the occasion to apologize to the Liberia basketball
federation for the club’s behavior and asked them to please look
into the issue, because as he termed it, lot of funds were invested
in the club for the league.
Mr. Toe also called on fans, supporters and well-wishers of the
club to help in apologizing to the LBF on the club’s behalf.
The NPA boss said the LBF decision is a serious set back for the
association and will appreciate if the LBF will allow them paid the
L$10,000 that was fined instead of suspension
