Anchors Crumble under US
Goree At Home

Rather than drag their opponents at home as they had boasted, the
NPA Anchors were instead whipped by their visiting Senegalese
counterparts in the CAF Confederation Cup first leg match over the
weekend.
Their opponent, US Goree beat them 3-2 to clinch a vital away goals
and points.
The Liberian side appears to be rekindling the memories of their
1995 entrance in the Champions League which was greeted with
devastation inflicted on them by another continental first timer,
Aboassi Goldfield of Ghana.
It was during the same month 12 years ago that after massive
preparations, publicity and similar attitude, the NPA Anchors were
held to a goalless draw in Monrovia in the first leg but were at the
receiving end of an 8-1 drabbing at the hands of Aboassi Goldfield
in the return leg two weeks later in Ghana.
Meanwhile, other teams have also been in action over the weekend
across the continent.
