Mustapha To Boost Referees Capacity
May 16, 2006
One month after taking seat as an Executive Committee Member of the
Liberia Football Association (LFA), the President of LISCR Mustapha
Raji, will shortly boost the capacity of referees in the country.
According to report gathered by our Sports Desk, Mr. Mustapha Raji
is expected to donate a set of computers to the association in order
to build the capacity of the referees' institution.
The report says the LISCR boss has been deeply concerned over the
plight of referees in the country.
He noted that referees throughout the world are crucial to the
development of the game and as such their plight was a major concern
if the game is to move forward.
"They are the balancing technicians who decisions during the game
are done without favor so as to protect both sides for the good of
the game," he said.
He maintained that referees are essential part of the game to the
point that FIFA sees them as the life blood line in any competition.
Thus the presentation is still in waiting but members of "Whistle,"
as they are popularly called are said to welcome the move by the
LISCR President with great happiness.
At the same time LIFRA top executives are expected to meet early
this week to discuss on the date for the presentation by the LISCR
boss.
The boost by the Mr. Mustapha Raji has come at the time when LIFRA's
newly elected President Idrissa Kaba and other officials have taken
over authority of the association officially.
