More Football League Matches At ATS

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
The 2005 National Football League championship will continue on Wednesday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Lynch Street in Monrovia.

In the first match of the day, United Soccer Ambassadors (USA)-Olympic will face Paynesville Young Controllers (PYC) in the second division.

The subsequent match will involve Zelors and St. Joseph Warriors, also in the second division.
Last Friday, the reigning but struggling premier league champions Mighty Barrolle managed to force LPRC Oilers to a 1-1 draw in phase two of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2005 National League.

The two sides were without most of their key players as they were selected to travel with the national football team, Lone Star for a four-nation tournament in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The female second division of the clash saw Tito United beating Determined Sisters 16-0.

The phase two began on Sunday, June 5, at the ATS with Blanco falling 3-1 to Pro Anchor Sisters in game one while the match that followed produced a 2-2 draw between Kortie Invincible Eleven (IE) and current female champions Earth Angels. Also on Sunday, LISCR FC whipped Alliance FC 1-0.

The league continued on Wednesday, June 8, and it was a big celebration for the Barracks Young Controllers (BYC) after thrashing Sounjata Warriors 4-1 in the second division.
The second match was another second division battle that saw Karn United and Black Star settling to a 1-1 draw.
