Monday, 11 September 2006

Mighty Barrolle and Invincible Eleven are through to the quarter final of the Liberia Football Association Knockout competition.

The sides went through after securing separate victories on Saturday. Mighty Barrolle ran out impressive 4-1 winners over Mark Pro. Mark Pro took an early 12th minute lead through Freddy Zimmey before Barrolle replied with goals from Eric Weeks and Alex Nimely.

Dominic Tommey and Ishmael Nimely scored own goals for Mark Pro. The Barrolle and Mark Pro game saw Center Referee Buster Snyder sending off three Mark Pro players in split seconds. Referee Snyder awarded the three players red card after they protested Barrolle third goal.

It was the first time this season three players were sent off in a match. Later at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, Invincible Eleven struggled to beat Zelor 3-2 in a berth taking show down. Shad Toe scored two times for IE.

Invincible Eleven is using the knock out competition as a consolation for their fans. NPA Anchors also secure a quarterfinal place after a 1-0 win over Mighty Blue Angels on Sunday.
