Written by Horatio Bobby Willie
Wednesday, 03 January 2007

Maryland County has qualified for the knockout round of the national county meet.
Maryland dragged visiting Sinoe County 2-0 at the sports stadium in Harper City.

The win gave Maryland seven points from three games and the county is sure of finishing as the top team from the southeastern region.

Sinoe County must win their home game against River Gee in order to be sure of a place in the knockout round.

Elsewhere in the Southeast, Grand Gedeh County scored an impressive 3-0 win over strugglers River Gee County.

The win has left Grand Gedeh hoping on a defeat for Sinoe in their last game.

In kickball, Grand Gedeh dragged River Gee 34 to 2 homeruns.

The knockout round of the county meet will get underway on January 13 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
