It seems the tension that engulfed the country on the issue of
the Lone Star senior players being included in the match on Sunday
is over with the visit of the quartet Jonathan Boye Charles Sogbie,
deputy Defense minister Donasius Sebwe, Kelvin Sebwe and Oliver
Markor to the camp of the Lone Star.
The relatively former players of the team paid a surprised visit
to the younger players on camp as they inspired them ahead of the
plum fixture with Cameroun.
They were first welcomed by Administrative manager Benedict Wreh
who said the visit of the Lone Star long term servers was something
they had been yearning for.
Taking the floor first was the former bull dozer Boye Charles who
said "it is no time for disunity, but unity".
He also noted "we have come to let you know that we are behind
you and that while the likes of Kelvin and Markor were not included
there should be no division"
According to him this is the the time of unanimity and as such
they all should forge ahead.
Also speaking was former center back Donasius Sebwe who stated
that they were putting their weight behind the team. "We are with
you all till the end. There is no need for confusion", he lamented.
He also assured the players of maximum security and that UNMIL
was doing everything possible to curtail any acts of violence.
AS for the once gritty machine man Oliver Markor who was one
player many were yearning to be included in Sunday's match gave his
support to the team as well and noted "the game on Sunday is a tough
one, because Cameroun is not an easy side, but you have to believe
in yourself and keep your hopes alive in the competition".
The maestro Kelvin said "we wish all of you well on Sunday". The
former Black Star player said during their glory days on the
National team he was always wishing
to play against Cameroun and the Ivory Coast and that did not
happen, but urged the players to be concentrated for Sunday's match.
"All of you are good players individually, but I only hope you
can play collectively", he concluded.
Speaking on behalf of the players the duo of Dulee Johnson and
Sunday Seah thanked their senior brothers for the visit which they
said had lifted their spirit.
They then pleaded with their senior brothers to join their convoy
while on the way to the stadium for the match on Sunday.
