Lonestar U20 goes Down at Home

Liberian Players hang their heads down after the 1-3 defeat in their own back yard to Niger.

Liberia lost 3-1 to Niger at the ATS Sunday to bow out of the FIFA Youth Championship qualification. The Starlets lost away in the last meeting 4-0 and with the 1-3 loss are out of the competition on a 6-1 goal aggregate.

The visitors scored early in the first half to add to the home-side pressure. After the break, the visitors got a second goal before the home side pull a consolation by T. Kamara of Mighty Blue Angels

The Liberia under-20 side had difficulties in controlling the fast style of football played by the Nigerians as the first half ended 0-1.

Niger got goal number three in added time. Liberia struggle for form in-front of their opponent goal. Playing the ball in the air was not good for the home-side at all as the visitors control the air balls very well owing to the height advantage
