Lone Star Former Goalie Is Dead

Reports gathered by our sports desk say a former goalkeeper of the national team, the Lone Star, Mr. David Momo is dead.

Mr. Momo died at the John F. Kennedy Hospital in Sinkor where he had been admitted for the past two weeks.

Mr. Momo was a former defender of the Invincible Eleven (IE) and went on to serve as goalkeeper of the national team.

Mr. Momo was a brilliant Goalkeeper and because of his excellence in goalkeeping during the early 70s, it was reported that he was send for by Queen Elizabeth of England but, he did not make the trip due to what soccer enthusiasts said “for the love of his Country” they lamented. .

Mr. David Momo played along side former players like Monkey Brown, Glastone Ofori and Sam Burnette.

Meanwhile, the Acting Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. J. Caesar Padmore, has also confirmed the news of the death of Mr. Momo.
