Local Stars Thrash Foreign Based!

Local stars of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) league continue to show much hunger against their most illustrious opponent, Liberian Foreign Based when they clinched a 2-1 victory on Thursday, December 31st , 2009 in the Sports Writers of Liberia (SWAL) best out of three tournament.

The Local stars went in front in the first stanza of the duel with a penalty strike from Invincible Eleven (IE) Captain, Joseph Kelee Hina before substitute Mighty Barrolle striker, Sam Andrews score a magical goal to see the kids secure a 2-0 lead.

Egyptian side Al-Ahly attacking ace Francis GrandPa Doe scored the lone goal from the penalty spot for the Foreign based side to end the match 2-1 in the locals’ favor.

A draw for the locals in the last match on Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 at the tournament’s venue at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia will see them lift the trophy.

Fans and lovers of Liberian football will gather on Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 to see who wins the SWAL tournament.
